|Beacon South Quarter, Dublin|
Beacon South Quarter represents the next phase of the redevelopment of Sandyford Industrial Estate in South County Dublin. With over 23,000 square metres of upmarket retail outlets, 1,100 luxurious apartments, 2,300 car spaces and a vibrant cultural centre, it offers a unique and inspiring combination of living, shopping and recreation.
Structurally the project has presented a vast number of complex challenges. From triple level basements in granite rock, beneath long span retail outlets, under high rise residential blocks of up to 18 storeys, all our considerable resources, experience and technical know how have been called upon. We have mixed conventional structural solutions such as in-situ concrete basements, with innovative precast concrete basement solutions, which we have adapted from research and visits to Belgium for use in the Irish market. We have worked closely with the main contractors to develop the most efficient jump forming systems for application in the construction of the high rise in situ concrete cores. Our practical know how and ability to work closely with main contractors and their specialist sub contractors has been instrumental to the success of these endeavours.

We believe our success on Beacon South Quarter has been achieved through our intimate understanding of the client’s needs, and our ability to work closely with our fellow design team members and contractors to deliver the highest quality solutions. Our passionate client-centred, project-focussed ethos has served us well and we firmly believe this approach will lead to further success in this project and beyond for both TPE Consulting Engineers and our valued clients.
